Forty Two Weeks

Let’s be honest, this photo isn’t really reading “cute” so much as it is “devilish mastermind plotting to take over the world”.
You only wish your baby was as quirky as mine.

I am going to level with you. This photo was not taken on Tuesday. It was taken on Thursday night. At 10pm. Also, this fabric wasn’t really supposed to be used for Finn’s weekly photo. It was supposed to be a new cafe curtain for my kitchen window but the pattern got very mixed reviews. Somehow, I snuck it in for a photo because….actually I’m really not sure why I used it; I have other, better choices. Personally, I like this fabric and I am going to make an apron out of it. Well, I could insert more disjointed thoughts here or just stop and give you the photo. Option B it is.
P.S. I thought for sure it was “fourty” but no, apparently 40 is spelled “forty”.

Finn is 9 months old today. Can’t really believe it.
Lately he has been up to lots of fun new things like sitting up from a belly-down position, pulling up to stand in his crib, side-stepping while holding on to something for balance, and cutting teeth left and right. He is also babbling all the time, biting everything in sight and making a beeline for all the dirtiest places in the house (why is this??? why???). He hasn’t been all that interested in anything but breastmilk…that is until today. He gobbled up both his sweet potatoes and bananas for lunch AND dinner, leaning forward for more at every bite. I guess he is officially ready to eat food, no dilly-dally-ing. More work for momma but I am excited about all the new things he will be trying soon!

I love this boy so so so much! Sadly, I am very behind on photo taking and getting my thoughts down on paper. The time is going by so heart-breaking-ly fast. I think I need to devote an entire day to just sorting through photos of the past 9 months.

Well hello there! It’s Wednesday. I know, I know, it isn’t Tuesday but at least it isn’t Thursday. Wednesday feels right, doesn’t it? This week’s lovely vintage fabric is on loan from a friend. Now normally, I wouldn’t want to use a flowery fabric for our manly man Finn but I think this fabric reads more graphic, almost geometric, than floral. Plus, how can you not smile over the color yellow??
This week, we decided that Finn is the happiest, sweetest, smile-y-est, BEST almost-8-month-old baby in the entire world. How did WE get to be parents of this kid??? Also this week, Finn had his first swim lesson, had his first taste of sand at the beach, and is officially creeping all over the house, making a bee line for all the things he shouldn’t. Heaven help us when he actually figures out how much faster he can go when he truly crawls.
p.s. The commas in this blog post are all wrong, I know. Maybe I need an English teacher or two to set me straight.
